Floor protection for the Hamburger Trainstation

Navigation

Project:
Wrapping of the Rieckhallen at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin

Tasks:
Protection of the facade with transparent vinyl

Material:
Reversible and transparent easy-stick vinyl with a writable surface

Execution:
For the oversized painting by artist Katharina Grosse, the historic facade of the Rieckhallen at the Hamburger Bahnhof art museum in Berlin was protected. The exhibition lasted approximately six months.

The trapezoidal sheet metal facade was covered with overlapping transparent film over a width of approximately 140 meters to prevent paint from adhering to the surface. Door frames in this area were also protected with film.

The film had to be reversible since the facade needed to be restored to its original condition after the exhibition ended. This was achieved by removing the film and cleaning off any adhesive residues.
