While material quality and workmanship provide the foundation, the actual service life is largely determined by operating conditions and maintenance. The technical durability of a film depends, first and foremost, on the material used. Short-term signage requires different film properties than long-term fleet branding or a vehicle wrap that extends over recesses, curves, and complex areas of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Manufacturers sometimes specify durability periods of several years for individual films. However, such figures must be interpreted correctly: they often refer to unprinted material exposed to the outdoors in a vertical orientation under specific climatic conditions. Consequently, a value found in a technical data sheet does not automatically mean that every vehicle graphic will last for exactly that same duration under all conditions.<\/p>\n
In the case of a vehicle, additional factors come into play. For example, horizontal or steeply inclined surfaces\u2014such as the hood and roof\u2014receive more direct sunlight than vertical side panels.
