Print height up to 4m – print width theoretically infinite
Surfaces to be printed smooth like RIGIPS or structured like e.g. B. plastered walls, exposed concrete walls, exposed brickwork, natural stone and clinker. Here you can work up to a contour depth of approx. 10 mm.
Materials to be printed:
Wood, metal, glass, plastics, stone, tiles or concrete.
Quality
Print resolution up to 1200 DPI - Printing is done in CMYK and white can also be underprinted.
Print and ink quality and application
A high-resolution, plastic-like, scratch- and waterproof UV ink from a renowned European ink manufacturer is used for printing. The ink is cured instantly during the printing process using UV LED technology.
The prints are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Quality of the surfaces and walls to be printed:
The wall printer usually runs parallel to the wall on a leveling rail system. For particularly straight floors, the rail system can be dispensed with.
A floor leveling system integrated into the device compensates for uneven floors. To compensate for non-perpendicular or uneven walls, laser sensors detect wall unevenness of up to 10 cm in real time and the print head dynamically follows the respective wall contour during operation. However, there are technical limits here too.
There is no guarantee that every wall can be printed.
Durability of prints:
Indoors, the ink remains colorfast for up to 12 years.
For outdoor applications, the service life is limited to approximately two years, but this can be extended to more than five years with transparent UV-protective topcoats.
The ink dries immediately after printing and is scratch-resistant
Removing wall prints

On smooth surfaces such as glass or metal, the print can be removed with a glass scraper.
As a rule, walls must be painted over two or three times to neutralize the print.
If wood or other open-pored materials are used, the surface must be sanded.
Exposed concrete walls and metal surfaces must be treated with sand or glass bead blasting to neutralize the prints.
WallPrint and sustainability:
Less is more here.
With WallPrint, no transmission or other intermediate media are required.
Without detours, without additional materials, without unnecessary waste, with high quality and an impressive result.
Print media and transfer media, as well as stencil materials, are completely unnecessary because the prepared file is applied or printed directly onto the substrate or surface of the wall or other medium to be printed in one printing operation.
This prevents the battle of materials that usually takes place, especially with plot letters.
Preparatory measures for wall printing
1. Spatial conditions & printable areas
- The ceiling MUST be free of obstructions in the area extending 90 cm out from the wall.
- Minimum distance to the ceiling: 40 cm
- Wall area MUST remain clear within the print area.
- Minimum distance to the inside corner on BOTH sides: 10 cm.
- Minimum distance from the floor or above the baseboard: 30 cm.
- In the area extending 90 cm out from the wall, the floor MUST be free of obstacles and as level as possible.
2. Required environmental conditions
- Temperature range: 15–30 degrees – no direct sunlight
- Clean environment; dust- and dirt-free, load-bearing, non-sanding surface.
- So, a fully prepared substrate.
- 230 V electrical connection within accessible range (max. approx. 20 m)
Wall Printer FAQ
How does the wall printer work?
The wall printer resembles a conventional inkjet printer. The difference is that the image is not printed on paper, but directly and vertically onto the wall or another suitable surface. You can find a video showcase on our YouTube channel.
What are the advantages of direct wall printing?
Wall printing allows for custom designs to be applied directly to the wall, eliminating the need for additional panels, films, or frames. This creates a clean, seamless, and high-quality look.
What designs can be printed?
In principle, photos, graphics, logos, illustrations, patterns, or typographic designs can be printed. It is important that you provide a suitable print file.
Do I have to supply the print file myself?
Yes, ideally the finished print file is provided by the customer. You can find more information on this in the FOTOREKLAME file preparation guide.
Can FOTOREKLAME assist me with image selection and sourcing?
Yes, depending on the agreement and the project, we can also license images via stock photo databases such as Shutterstock. Custom graphic design work requires a separate agreement.
Is there a data sheet for the print files?
Yes, we provide a data sheet for the correct preparation of print data.
On which substrates can printing be done?
Wall printing is suitable for many smooth, solid, and structurally sound substrates. These include, for example, plastered walls, painted surfaces, panel materials, or other suitable surfaces. It is crucial that the substrate is clean, dry, stable, and as level as possible.
Is a primer necessary?
A primer is generally not necessary for wall printing, nor can it be printed by the printer itself.
Can white also be printed?
Yes, white printing is possible. This is particularly relevant when printing on dark, colored, or transparent substrates. White can be used as a standalone ink color or as an underprint to make colors appear more vibrant and opaque.
Is an additional UV coating possible?
No, we cannot offer an additional UV coating for wall prints.
How high can the wall pressure be designed?
Pressure is applied via a vertical rail system. Depending on the technical conditions, pressure heights of up to approximately 4 meters are possible.
How is the wall printer aligned?
The wall printer runs on a rail that is precisely aligned on-site. This guide ensures that the printed image can be transferred to the wall precisely and straight.
Can multiple locations be printed?
Yes, multiple locations are possible. However, it must be taken into account that setting up and aligning the printing system separately for each location may be necessary.
For which applications is the wall printer suitable?
The wall printer is suitable for custom wall designs in offices, medical practices, hotels, restaurants, showrooms, retail spaces, museums, exhibitions, schools, and private interiors. It is particularly ideal for applications where a design is to be permanently and seamlessly integrated into the interior décor with a high-quality finish.
