Project:
Exhibition: "The High Seas of Ilse Aichinger" at the Literary Colloquium Berlin
Tasks:
Production and installation of exhibition graphics
Material:
Honeycomb panels with UV direct printing, display board
Execution:
The exhibition “Ilse Aichinger’s High Seas” focuses on the renowned Austrian author, who would have turned 100 in 2021.
Die Grafikträger sind leichte und nachhaltige Wabenkernplatten, die wir mit unserem UV direct printer bedruckt und anschließend mit der CNC-Fräse konturgeschnitten haben.
The panels are lightweight, which allowed us to hang them using multiple overlapping layers on nylon cords. The choice of cardboard materials has once again proven to be highly effective. We produced the sleeves for the mounting holes ourselves using a 3D printer.
Some of the honeycomb cardboard panels were enhanced with tactile elements — object reproductions also printed on display board using UV direct printing. Key points in the exhibition were marked with small flags, which we produced from round wooden sticks and self-adhesive film printed with latex technology.
Two eye-catchers, also made from honeycomb cardboard, are a flyer stand and a table. The stand is mounted on an adjustable aluminum base and features a small compartment for holding flyers.
The table was also entirely built from honeycomb panels and displays several documents with a view of Wannsee. These were printed half directly onto the honeycomb cardboard and half on paper, which was mounted on the table with spacing.
